Nimonic^® 80A – High-Performance Alloy for Elevated Temperatures

Nimonic^® 80A, also known as Alloy 80A or 2.4952, is a nickel-chromium alloy enhanced with titanium and aluminum, offering outstanding strength and resistance to oxidation at high temperatures. This alloy is highly suitable for applications where materials are exposed to prolonged stress and elevated temperatures, making it ideal for the aerospace, energy, and automotive industries.

XM-19 – HS/EHS is a nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel that can be supplied in the cold worked or warm worked condition (it is also known as Nitronic® 50 – a trademark owned by AK Steel Corporation). Although very small diameter bars of XM-19 (<2.25”) can be cold worked to achieve higher strength levels, larger section sizes can only achieve dramatically increased mechanical properties by deforming at raised temperatures. This results in a deformed and partly recrystallised micro structure that is ‘stress free’, achieves high strengths with good ductility and consistent properties through the bar (unlike cold worked material). The superior properties of XM-19 HS/EHS are available up to 9” diameter bars.

Nickel-Chromium alloy being precipitation hardenable and having high creep-rupture strength at high temperatures to about 700°C (1290°F). It has higher strength than Inconel^® X-750 and better mechanical properties at lower temperatures than Nimonic 90 and Inconel^® X-750. Inconel® 718 has exceptional weldability compared to the Nickel-base super alloys hardened by Aluminium and Titanium.

17-4 stainless is an age-hardening martensitic stainless combining high strength with the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. Hardening is achieved by a short-time, simple low-temperature treatment. Unlike conventional martensitic stainless steels, such as type 410, 17-4 is quite weldable. The strength, corrosion resistance and simplified fabrication can make 17-4 stainless a cost-effective replacement for high strength carbon steels as well as other stainless grades.

Incoloy^® alloy 825 (UNS N08825) is a nickel-iron-chromium austenitic alloy enhanced with molybdenum, copper, and titanium. Designed for outstanding corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing environments, this alloy exhibits excellent resistance to chloride-induced stress-corrosion cracking and pitting. The inclusion of titanium stabilizes the alloy, preventing sensitization in the as-welded condition and ensuring resistance to intergranular attack—an issue that typically affects unstabilized stainless steels exposed to sensitizing temperature ranges. Incoloy^® alloy 825 is highly versatile in fabrication, offering excellent formability and weldability across various techniques, similar to other nickel-based alloys.

XM-19 Stainless is a high strength and good corrosion resistant austenitic stainless steel. It has more than double the yield strength of 304 and 316 stainless steel and has better corrosion resistance than 317L stainless steel, making it widely used in marine engineering, chemical processing, and nuclear industries. This material achieves an excellent balance between strength and corrosion resistance while offering superior low-temperature toughness and resistance to intergranular corrosion. Notably, our XM-19 material demonstrates outstanding performance in cryogenic conditions, achieving an impact value of over 45J at -196°C, fully meeting the demands of harsh operating environments and becoming a trusted choice for our clients.

Alloy 925 (UNS N09925) is an agehardenable nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additionsof molybdenum, copper, titanium and aluminum. The alloy’s chemical composition, is designed to provide a combination of high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. The nickel content is sufficient for protection against chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking. The nickel, in conjunction with the molybdenum and copper, also gives outstanding resistance to reducing chemicals. The molybdenum aids resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. The alloy’s chromium content provides resistance to oxidizing environments. The titanium and aluminum additions cause a strengthening reaction during heat treatment.

Alloy 925 is used in various applications requiring a combination of high strength and corrosion resistance. Because of the alloy’s resistance to sulfide stress cracking and stress-corrosion cracking in “sour” (H2S containing) crude oil and natural gas, it is used for down-hole and surface gaswell components including tubular products, valves,

Alloy 800H/800HT^® are two individual solid solution strengthened, iron-nickel-chromium alloys. They are typically offered as one, dual certified alloy, meeting the chemical composition requirements of both alloys. The principle difference between alloys 800H and 800HT^® is the restricted aluminum and titanium content in 800HT^®, which results in higher creep and stress rupture properties. Both alloy 800H and 800HT^® are generally considered to be superior to the base alloy 800 (UNS N08800) because of greater creep and stress rupture properties and a more restrictive C wt% range. Alloy 800H limits the C wt% from just 0.1% max in base alloy 800 to a 0.5% to 0.1% range. Alloy 800HT^® further controls this by limiting the C wt% to 0.6% to 0.1%. There are also limitations on the grain size for alloy 800 H/HT^® that are not in place for alloy 800.

A Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum alloy with excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of corrosive media, being especially resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. Inconel^® 625 provides resistance to stress corrosion cracking to chloride ions, making it a favourable choice for sea water applications. The alloy also provides commendable oxidation resistance, with its high strength a result of the stiffening combination of Molybdenum and Niobium on the alloy’s Nickel-Chromium base.

Alloy 600, a nickel-chromium-iron, solid solution strengthened alloy, is designed for applications needing resistance to corrosion and high temperatures. This alloy operates effectively across a wide range of temperatures, from cryogenic levels up to 2000°F. It is notable for its good workability, weldability, and high strength.

Alloy 28 (UNS N08028, W. Nr. 1.4563) is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum and copper. It has excellent resistance to both reducing and oxidizing acids, to stress-corrosion cracking, and to localise attack such as pitting and crevice corrosion. The alloy are especially resistant to sulphuric and phosphoric acid. Used for chemical processing, pollution control equipment, oil and gas well piping, nuclear fuel reprocessing, acid production and pickling equipment.

These highly alloyed (Mn-Ni-Cr-Mo-N) magnetic and non-magnetic steels are used for Inlet & Exhaust Valves for IC Engines, which function under conditions of severe heat and corrosion stress. A286 is an iron-based nickel-chromium austenitic precipitation-hardened stainless steel alloy. The alloy is highly suitable for applications requiring high-strength corrosion resistance. A286 retains its high strength at elevated temperatures of 704°C (1300°F). The material is produced by vacuum induction melting (VIM) or vacuum oxygen decarburisation (VOD). The alloy is then remelted using vacuum arc or electroslag remelting processes to complete the production cycle. A286 finds typical use in lower-stress applications at high temperatures and provides good corrosion and oxidation resistance.
